In the domain of sustainability, B-PHOT has expertise in developing advanced optics for solar panels, in distributed optical sensing for enabling offshore wind farm developers and operators to monitor their infrastructure (see project Boptic VLAIO-ICON project), and in the detection of contamination or plastic particles in water (see EU project Monplas). These projects result in innovations that contribute to a cleaner environment.
