ACTPHAST4R launches a community to support European researchers in photonics

07-07-2021

24 of Europe’s leading competence centres have joined together to offer their expertise and access to their mature technologies to researchers in photonics. Led by Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the ACTPHAST4R consortium will use its brand new community to engage with European researchers and build a growing network that brings together the brightest minds in photonics innovation.

Photonics Technology Access for Researchers

Researchers, scientists, and aspiring entrepreneurs are invited to join the community, share their expertise and ideas, and get support from the consortium. ACTPHAST4R offers business support and provides researchers with access to real-life conditions and expertise in tech platforms to test and deploy their innovative ideas in the following industry sub-sectors: Agrifood, Biomedical, ICT, Industry 4.0, Mobility, Smart cities & smart living, Sustainability / Energy.

The ACTPHAST4R community will feature all the latest news and events in the domain of photonics, success stories from researchers that have already been supported through the ACTPHAST4R programme, and information on the seven cutting-edge photonics technology platforms at the heart of ACTPHAST4R. Most content published in the community is public to non-members, but only registered community members can access all contents, share their own announcements and events, and interact with other community members.

In addition, a space has been made available exclusively for ACTPHAST4R community members to request support from project leaders. The community is live and visible to all users at https://bit.ly/actphast4r.

ACTPHAST4R is a unique one-stop-shop photonics technology access and support centre for European researchers. ACTPHAST4R will directly support the accelerated deployment of existing cutting-edge photonics technologies by providing them with action-oriented solutions on two complementary levels. In the first instance, ACTPHAST4R will provide researchers with access to the photonics expert know-how and mature technologies of 24 of Europe’s leading competence centres. In parallel, ACTPHAST4R will provide researchers with expert business coaching to help foster their entrepreneurial mindset and deployment capabilities, with guidance to pathways for further scaling of their demonstrators and financing of innovation in the industrial domain.
