Two B-PHOT publications in Journal of Lightwave Technology 'Top 50'

28-09-2020

IEEE/OSA Journal of Lightwave Technology announced its 50 most accessed papers for August 2020. The list features two recent contributions of B-PHOT Brussels Photonics. Koen Vanmol and his B-PHOT and Commscope colleagues published a paper about downtapers to make efficiënt optical connections between standard single-mode fibers and waveguides in photonic integrated circuits. The paper from Agnieszka Gierej and her co-authors from B-PHOT, UGent-PBM and ITME Poland demonstrates that commercially available poly(D,L-lactic acid) (PDLLA) is a suitable material for the fabrication of biodegradable optical fibers with a standard heat drawing process. Congratulations to both PhD students and all co-authors!
