Camila Castillo Pinto

PhD student

Camila Castillo Pinto (11-04-1995) is a PhD student in B-PHOT group, at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Her PhD project, under the supervision of Prof. Krassimir Panajotov, aims to design, fabricate, and investigate experimentally and theoretically Vertical External-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers for mode-locking and dissipative soliton OFC generation. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree (2016) and Master of Science degree in Physics (2019) at the University of Chile in Santiago, Chile. During her studies there, she worked at LAFER (laboratory of robust phenomena in optics), studying experimentally and theoretically the dynamics of non-linear waves in a liquid crystal light valve with optical feedback and external forcing.
